Industry 4.0, control and optimize the production process

Industry 4.0 is a strategic project proposed by Germany for the technological evolution and optimization of industrial processes, aiming to achieve a sophisticated system to allow for maximum production efficiency, best energy utilization and maximum customization of goods, even for mass production. Thanks to the adoption of four basic principles, a global network of factory-only cyberphysical systems (CPS), created by the enterprise of machinery, logistics, structures and operators, are interconnected and continuously conversed through the Internet of Things (IoT), ensuring interoperability.

Aggregate data: The use of information systems can directly aggregate raw data from the entire production process, or even meet requirements at any time.

Full digital link: from the end user to the manufacturer and vice versa, process engineering allows the system to independently collect information about the tasks that must be performed to formulate the product.

Decision empowerment: Because of integrated components and connectivity, CPS can autonomously perform their tasks, eliminating distractions or their own needs.

For Industry 4.0

Moliplas 4.0 can be defined as an open system for exporting import operations and managing data from external systems. The required integration, usually in conjunction with the customer's MES/ERP, is used to automatically capture the PO (production order) on the final machine to ensure that the correct resin or mixture is finally delivered to the correct final machine in the appropriate amount and optimal drying. All of this minimizes manual operations and thus reduces human error.

For its part, Moliplas 4.0 provides a complete production order report, indicating materials and batches used and quantities consumed, and it provides monitoring, integration, automation and traceability: these are the core concepts and requirements of Industry 4.0.

The control of plastics processing is becoming increasingly strategic in general process control, from the storage of materials to the feeding of final machines. Tracking raw materials for specific production, previously needed only in medical applications, is becoming increasingly important. For this reason, we pay a lot of attention to controlling the storage area of raw materials used in production. ML includes obtaining materials by scanning bar codes and adopting auxiliary systems to prevent material handling errors. ML then automatically disseminates material related data based on the actual linking process until the final machine is reached, thus ensuring traceability and optimal Settings for the universal control equipment operating during the process.

Moliplas 4.0 is a completely self-developed software by the Universal Software department, which ensures that it is easy to further improve and develop.

As experience continues to accumulate, and in most cases, in response to customer suggestions, new features, tools, and controls continue to be added. Production ingredients to ensure process repeatability, centralized scheduling of universal control equipment, real-time monitoring of equipment performance by KPIs, updating of online manuals, optimized alarm management with continuous monitoring and definable graphics are just some of the features recently introduced, and more are in the works. Using the most advanced technology, providing accessibility through remote client devices, and installing software on corporate servers in a virtual environment to transfer data using the corporate network, our designers have been thinking about how to use these applications for ML4.0
